YMCA Educational Support

The National Council of YMCAs of Japan offers unique educational support for Challenged Children with learning disabilities, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, and Autism Spectrum Disorder. With a focus on “Academic, Social, Communication and Association” (ASCA) skills, the educational support programs offer personalized instruction based on each child’s needs. And, most importantly, these support classes are structured in a way to ensure children have fun and enjoy the lessons they are learning!

YMCA After-School Services

The National Council of YMCAs of Japan offers after-school services, including social skill training, for Challenged Children in elementary through high school. Whether a child simply needs supervision when the school day ends, or could benefit from additional activities during school holidays, these after-school programs are a great way for children to learn and grow in a safe environment.

YMCA Seasonal Camps

The National Council of YMCAs of Japan holds several camps throughout the year to inspire growth for all ages. Support and medical personnel are on hand to ensure that children of all ability and need levels are taken care of. Each camp offers opportunities for children to build their self-esteem, enjoy nature, safely participate in physical activities, and of course -- have fun! The annual Friendship Camp, held in Tokyo, also provides space for Challenged Children and non-Challenged Children alike to interact and learn from one another, helping to destigmatize differences.
