YMCA International Japan organized its first Charity Run in Tokyo in 1987, hosted by the FCSC (Foreign Community Supporting Committee). The program has since expanded in scope to include runs in 21 prefectures, involving around 12,000 runners and volunteers participating every year. These events to date have raised more than 750 million yen in donations and participation fees; these contributions are used for the YMCA’s Challenged Children programs throughout Japan.

The 2020 events were modified due to COVID-19, but they were still a success! Runners participated virtually and raised more than ¥16,000,000 for Challenged Children programs.
